Who We Are
Greer Law represents families and family businesses in building and protecting complex assets with creative solutions.
Our Logo – Why a Humming Bird?
Hummingbirds are known for their speed and agility. They are dynamic, unassuming, attractive pollinators. They can fly long distances and are known for their endurance, perseverance, and resilience. Additionally, a hummingbird’s wings move in a distinctive figure-eight pattern, which happens to be the ancient symbol for continuity. The hummingbird is symbolized across many cultures and is mutually viewed as a harbinger of joy.
We believe that hummingbirds are representative of how our firm does business and works with clients. We have a passion for connecting businesses and networking. We can move at the speed of your business. We have the agility to change directions in strategy when the unexpected occurs. We are resilient and guide our clients through risks and rewards.
Our mission is to be long-term strategic partners of companies and the people who run them through growth transitions by negotiating the risks to a successful reward. Simplified. Smooth. Successful.
We believe that it is our job to uncomplicate the intricacies and narrow the focus based on our clients’ goals and growth opportunities. Let us help you be rewarded for all of your smart decisions and risks you were willing to take when no one else would.
Our core values are based on an appreciation for business and life cycles. We value long-term relationships, efficiency, perseverance, managing expectations, forward thinking, reciprocity, and rewarding hard work.
Founder, CJ Greer likes to quote Bruce Lee and Tupac Shakur often. She says that we should “be water” and that flowers can “grow from concrete”. We recommend you ask her about these phrases.
Our Founder – Carol “CJ” Greer
Carol “CJ” Greer is a creative, business-minded attorney who is passionate about empowering her clients. She works collaboratively with entrepreneurs and other professionals in designing and building solutions to provide economic growth and other meaningful community impacts.
CJ is fiercely motivated by helping women and minority families gain financial independence by optimizing strategies, deal making, and education.
CJ’s lifelong thirst for knowledge was to gain an understanding of how people generated wealth, and how business works. She loves problem-solving, investing in the diversity of ideas and building systems that help entrepreneurs achieve their dreams. To that end, she attended business school and the IU Kelley School of Business and graduated with a BS in Marketing and a minor in economics. Then, at law school at the IU Robert H. McKinney School of Law, CJ focused her studies on international business and graduated with a J.D. and a Corporate Commercial Law Graduate Certificate in 2017. CJ also served as the Executive Notes Editor of the Indiana International and Comparative Law Review in which she is published on the Right of Publicity. She helped organize the largest fundraiser in the school’s history and was a semifinalist in a national negotiation competition on behalf of the law school.
Prior to attending law school, CJ provided a variety of services to professionals and entrepreneurs in business planning, raising capital, real estate, and designing marketing plans.
CJ also serves on the Professional Leadership Advisory Committee of the Central Indiana Community Foundation, the Board of a 501(c)(3) PitchFeast that micro funds minority entrepreneurs, and Ivy Tech’s Business Administration Advisory Board. When she has downtime, CJ enjoys impromptu dance parties at the Greer house with her three daughters, hiking through Indiana State Parks, and painting.
